The Cultural Arts and Jazz Society of Oshkosh (CFAJS) main purpose is to promote, introduce, educate and broaden exposure to multiculturalism through the Fine Arts. Through the years, Art has been and continues to be a means of expressing culture, diversity, multiculturalism, personalities, traditions and beliefs through a variety of mediums. Every country in the world has their own story to tell through the Arts. CFAJS will present programs focusing on our main purpose.
The CFAJS in conjunction with Jambalaya Arts and support from Arts Wisconsin will sponsor annually a Jazz and Art festival focusing not only on jazz but on the visual arts. The visual arts will include all different types and varieties of art.
Also, CFAJS will have other events educating and promoting the Fine Arts from different cultures and cultural performances. CFAJS definitely will present all mediums in the Fine Arts. (music, theater, dance, film, etc.) These events will have global speakers and performers from many different countries as well as focusing on the richness of the American culture.
One of our goals is to have a Cultural Fine Arts Museum in Oshkosh . The Jazz society is named after Mike Melvoin , national and international well reknowned Jazz artist from Oshkosh.
